Balcony Refurbishments

Over the last few months, we’ve been busy making some upgrades to our building – one of the most noticeable being the complete overhaul of our Lower Balcony area, finished with new seating and flooring.

We teamed up with Evertaut, one of the country’s leading manufacturers of auditorium seating, having seen their work in various theatres and sports stadiums across England. With their knowledge and expertise, we have been able to upgrade the seating which had served us well for almost 30 years and have installed 337 soft backed, comfortable chairs, all with cup holders or a table for drinks, and generous leg room.

To finish off, we’ve replaced all carpeting and flooring across this level too, in keeping with the traditional style of the venue but with a fresher look.

We are continually working on our building to add new facilities and upgrade existing ones, however with being a small, family run business, we can’t do it all at once.

As we go along, we’ll be sure to keep you updated here!

What’s Coming Up in 2023

We’ve hosted some amazing events through 2022, so here’s a taster of what’s coming your way over the next few months!

Circus of Horrors: Haunted Fairground

Circus of Horrors join us again at Olympia, after performing their fantastic show “The Witch” last year to a near full house. This March, they bring their brand new show to Liverpool, with an amazing set, special effects and of course, their world famous Beautifully Bizarre Circus acts, all performed to an original rock score.

Ward Thomas

Twin sisters Catherine & Lizzie return to Liverpool in support of their fifth album “Music in the Madness”, this Spring. The duo have been working hard throughout lockdown and are armed with a catalogue of new music so we expect this one to be a real treat!

The Magical Music of Harry Potter

Oscar winning conductor, Alexandre Desplat, will be joined by the London Philharmonic and Symphonic Film Orchestra for this celebration of the best music and scores from across the Harry Potter series. Visitors can expect to be immersed into a world of enchantment through the most advanced technology of light, sound, and special effects.

From The Jam

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of The Jam’s final 1982 farewell tour ‘Beat Surrender’, From the Jam, fronted by original band member Bruce Foxton, are taking to the road along with punk rock legends Buzzcocks. An evening of glorious throwbacks awaits!

Morgan Wade

Morgan Wade Crossing State Lines (And Oceans!) tour will see her play a series of special acoustic shows across the UK and Ireland. 2023 has started off a busy one for Morgan, coming to us straight off the back of a tour of the USA, tickets are almost sold out for this one and we can’t wait to welcome her to a full house in Liverpool.

Belle & Sebastian

After being forced to reschedule due to illness in 2022, Belle & Sebastian are back and raring to go for 2023! Their unique, lushly orchestrated chamber pop tunes have won them critical acclaim, including nominations for The Mercury Music Prize and Ivor Novello Award, alongside popular appeal and unsurprisingly, tickets are running low

On Sale Now: Morgan Wade

Morgan Wade didn’t write to be a sensation, for critical acclaim or massive concert tours. She wrote to speak her truth, to save her own life – and perhaps throw a rope to others struggling with the weight of a world moving too fast, loves where you fall too hard and nights that, good or bad, seem to go on forever.

2021 saw Reckless, her Thirty Tigers/now Sony Music Nashville debut, and lead single “Wilder Days” topping critical lists from Rolling Stone, TIME, Stereogum, New York Times, Boston Globe, FADER, Tennessean, Whiskey Riff, Billboard, and The Boot and Taste of Country who both proclaimed, “a once-in-a-decade debut.”

With a voice that is raw hurt, deep knowing and somehow innocence retained, Wade wrote or co-wrote a song cycle about the reality facing teens and 20-somethings that embraced raw desire, the reality of getting high and getting sober, the realm of crawling through the wreckage with a tough vulnerability that is as singular as the young woman from Floyd, Virginia.

“I didn’t know anybody like me when I was a kid, listening to music,” she confesses. “That’s why I fell in love with Elvis, that raw emotion. He held nothing back, and I loved that, so when I started writing, that’s where I went. I didn’t know you couldn’t. And to tell kids ‘do your own thing,’ that’s a bit much, but if I can show them something else? That might light a fire.”

This April & May, Morgan will take her Crossing State Lines (And Oceans!) tour to the UK, which will see her perform a series of special acoustic concerts. Tickets for her Liverpool show are on sale now!
