Soul II Soul announce Liverpool Olympia show

Soul II Soul announce Liverpool Olympia show taking place on Friday 17th November 2023.

Formed in 1988 Soul II Soul and Jazzie B quickly achieved a name in their community in North London. Soul II Soul’s dances had been reflecting what was occurring naturally in London; kids of all races had grown up together and were now raving together. By the mid-1980s the warehouse scene was in full swing, vibrant and underground, removed from the constraints of the mainstream – a natural fit for Soul II Soul’s creativity.

Nothing summed them and their crowd up better than their regular Sunday night spot at the now legendary Africa Centre in London’s Covent Garden. The Africa Centre was a game changer for Soul II Soul; for British black music; and for the nation’s youth culture in general. It caught the attention of Virgin Records, who signed them as an act in 1988, catapulting them into a tornado of success.

There were the resident club nights all over the world; live concert tours; radio and TV appearances; Jazzie had his own show on London’s Kiss FM and there was even an Adventures of the Funki Dreds comic book. And, of course, Soul II Soul enjoyed the type of chart success – notably with ‘Keep On Movin’ and ‘Back To Life’ – that made them household names all over the world.

To date Soul II Soul have sold over 10 million albums in over 35 territories worldwide and have product on over 200 compilation CDs while Jazzie has accreditation on over 35 million albums in over 100 territories. They’ve performed in over 20 countries, and appeared at some of the most famous venues in the world including Wembley and New York’s Universal Ample Theatre. America embraced Soul II Soul to such a degree, in 1990 they picked up two Grammy’s. Jazzie was given the keys to seven cities in the US, including LA and New York, and the NAACP has honoured him. There’s even a Soul II Soul day over there.

Tickets for the Liverpool Olympia show go on sale this Friday 14th April @ 10.00am

Just Announced: The Reytons at Liverpool Olympia

The Reytons have revealed their biggest ever tour, alongside an intense announcement video featuring boxing royalty John Fury. Adding to their landmark headline at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, these latest dates up and down the UK open up the band’s high-energy live show to over 40,000 people this autumn.

Borne from the streets of South Yorkshire, The Reytons have risen through the ranks to become one of the UK’s most exciting indie acts, with an official number one album and an all-but-sold-out arena headline under their arm.

Releasing 100% independently, with no label backing, Rotherham lads Jonny Yerrell, Joe O’Brien, Lee Holland and Jamie Todd took on the charts with their latest offering ‘What’s Rock And Roll?’, finishing in the coveted number one position.

Since the release of their debut album ‘Kids Off The Estate’ in 2021, The Reytons have gone from strength to strength, the word of mouth sensation spreading like wildfire throughout the UK. The band now boast an impressive 1,000,000+ monthly listeners on Spotify, however this online popularity is far from superficial.

The South Yorkshire lads have recently announced a huge headline show at Sheffield’s 13,500 capacity Utilita Arena and, with less than 1000 tickets left, they are well on their way to selling it out. With their latest tour announcement, an additional 28,000 tickets are added nationwide, completing a highly-anticipated run of dates.

Setting The Reytons apart from the competition is their fiercely independent approach to the way they work. The band channel their working class grit and determination to overcome every obstacle thrown at them. Aided by the masses of loyal fans, no achievement is out of reach.

The Reytons are coming to Liverpool Olympia on Saturday 23rd September, tickets are on sale now!
